I love the movie Stand By Me. I think everyone who has seen it will agree when I say that River Phoenix's performance was just phenominal. I never get tired of watching it. And to answer your question, yes, Mister B. Gone can be purchased at Barnes and Noble.

Creature, no worries. You did not offend me. I kind of have a habit of keeping my written opinions and views genderless, especially when discussing the subject of film. That way people can relate to my statements and thoughts, instead of the woman that is expressing them.

Anyway, just baught some new films today at Wal Mart. I got Platoon, Windtalkers, The Fast and the Furious (Original), and Stand By Me.
I also got 2 horror films, THe Descent and Wind Chill, which I've seen before and liked.
I'll be back later after I'm done watching them all. Mister B. Gone sounds really good. I'll have to find that. Not sure where I would fine that. Barnes and Noble?
Be back later

Glad you're back Yooneek. Hope you had a good time. Didn't know you were a woman by the way, for some reason I had the impretion you were a man. Sorry if I offend you by saying that.

But I have returned and, just so you know, the 'he' that you were referring to is a 'she'. :) Yup yup, I'm a chick.
I just finished watching Lord of Illusions. One of Clive Barker's films. It was based on a specific story in his Books of Blood collection, which is one of his series of horror fiction. There are six volumes in total, and each volume contains four or five stories. Lord of Illusions was based on the story; The Last Illusion, which is in volume six.
I loved this movie because Clive Barker always seems to gateway the viewer into becoming totally immersed in what is occurring on-screen. This is not an easy task. It is difficult to grasp an audience and take them out of their own reality and place them into a state where they cannot turn away from what they are watching, not allowing themselves to be distracted because nothing else at that moment can be as enchanting as what they are witnessing on film.
Clive Barker is an expert when it comes to this tactic. And not only with his films, but also with his books. The most frightening piece of literature I have ever read is his short meta-fiction novel; Mister B. Gone. To all those that are horror fans, I recommend this book. The subject matter is quite shaking. It is narrarated by a demon, in fact the very first page in the book states, "Burn this book!" Barker's concept for the book was if a demon could possess a little girl (as seen in The Exorcist) then why not a book? When Barker's editor first began reading the book, he got through the first few pages, stopped, and went to a church to pray, and then returned home to read the rest. To this Barker laughingly replied, "I must be doing something right."

Creature, don't fret. I have not forgotten about this truly essential site. I was simply gone for a mini-vacation for my best friend's 21st birthday. Unfortunately the river that all of us were so leisurely floating down in our inner-tubes, loaded with beer and cigarettes, was obviously not computer accessible.
But I have returned and, just so you know, the 'he' that you were referring to is a 'she'. :) Yup yup, I'm a chick.

Welcome Creature of the Night! Very nice top 10 horror film list. You must be a huge fan of slasher films. Glad you liked Rob Zombie's interpretation of Halloween.

I have to say that Rob Zombie did a great job with his remake of Halloween... it explained allot about how Michael Meyer got so messed up as a kid. some of the movies don't make sense like Halloween H2o... Jamie was supposed to be killed in a car accident and she had a girl not a son....creature of the night

Some of my favorites are The Great Escape, The Good, the bad, and the Ugly, and The Dirty Dozen. Some of my favorite horror films of that decade though are Night of the Living dead, and The Last Man on Earth.

I thought this would be an interesting branch into the conversation: Name some of your favorite films of the 1960's. These films do not have to be in the horror genre but can be if you want.
